Whale Wave 5-80E
BX-36 01
Prize Beyblade
Weight: 38g (LOW END) 38.3g (HIGH END)
Design: Whale Wave is a 5-sided blade with curved sections that resemble waves, leading to major hit contact points.
Press Attack: Whale Wave is designed to use its tall height and curved blades to press down on opponents, delivering powerful attacks that weaken their stamina, allowing it to outlast them in battle.
Smash Attack: Whale Wave's large, focused contact points can deliver critical hits, launching opponents into the Over Zone or Xtreme Zone. It can also cause Bursts by targeting the Ratchet if tilted correctly.
Attack vs. Attack Performance: In Attack vs. Attack (AVA) matchups, Whale Wave lacks stamina, requiring a hard launch to outmatch the opponent.
Attack vs. Defense/Stamina: Whale Wave is a strong attacker but needs a powerful shoot to remain effective during the end game.
Stamina/Defense Use: On stamina or defense setups, Whale Wave can deflect opponents due to its strong recoil. However, this recoil can backfire, making it a double-edged sword in battle.
Strengths:
Weight: Whale Wave is one of the heaviest blades, giving it an advantage over lighter options.
Smash/Upper Attack: Its curved design enables it to deliver hard-hitting attacks, either launching opponents into the air or delivering strong forward force.
Weaknesses:
Gap: Like many blades with gaps, Whale Wave is more susceptible to Bursts, particularly at taller heights.
Recoil Control: Whale Wave struggles to manage its recoil, which can make it ineffective if it’s thrown off balance.
Overall: Whale Wave is a must-have blade, offering heavyweight and incredible attack potential that can Burst, KO, or achieve an Xtreme Finish against opponents.
Gameplan: Use setups with a low height and a slight tilt to slam down on opponents, delivering powerful force to knock them out.
Combos:
Attack: Whale Wave 9-60 / 7-60 / 3-60 / 5-60 / 1-60 / Rush / Point / Taper / Low Flat
Defense: Whale Wave 5-70H / 9-60 / 1-60 / Dot
Weight: 7.2g
Design: 5-80 is a ratchet that has 5 sides and a tall height, the contact areas for the ratchet are 5 somewhat wide points.
Strengths:
Stamina: Generally due to the shape and its OWD (outwards weight distribution) it can have greater stamina than other ratchets giving Beyblades more balance.
Defense: Due to being 5 sided and thick, this ratchet has some of the best defense out of all the ratchets and only really is worse than 9 sides due to how 9 sides is exposed.
Weakness:
Tall Height: It is important to note that being tall in the case of 5-80 does not mean pure weakness however it means to be careful how you launch.
Weight: 3.2g
Design: Elevate is a Balance-Type Bit designed for low resistance. It features a flat tip with a central bump surrounded by a large disc.
Strengths:
Mixed Stamina and Attack: Elevate excels as a mixed stamina and attack Bit for Beyblade X. Due to its curved gears, when it commits to an Xtreme Dash, it lives up to its name by elevating off the ground, creating unique movement that curves to the side. This Bit effectively combines good aggression with solid stamina, especially in the endgame, thanks to the wide support disc.
KO Potential: Elevate's unique aspect is its ability to sometimes accelerate to extraordinary speeds, leading to powerful KOs. It can also curve and replicate a flower pattern, effectively achieving KOs in the Beyblade X Stadium.
Weaknesses:
Burst Risk: Due to its low burst resistance, Elevate can behave erratically at times. A Beyblade might slam into it, causing it to burst or fly so fast that the gears in the stadium could cause it to burst. This makes it a significant risk in battle; while it has good stamina performance, the potential for bursting remains a concern.
Vulnerability to Self-KO: If the Bit is hard-launched and catches the stadium path, it can self-KO. This emphasizes the need for control and technique when using this Bit. Gameplan: To maximize the effectiveness of Elevate, employ a flat launch or a slight angle to utilize the stadium's gimmicks and aim for knockouts.
Gameplan:
Flat launch or a somewhat tilted angle shoot: To maximize the effectiveness of this Bit, you can employ a flat launch or a slight angle to utilize the stadium's gimmicks and aim for knockouts.
Overall:
Elevate is a versatile Balance Type Bit that showcases impressive strengths while also presenting some risks. Its ability to deliver a unique blend of stamina and aggressive attack makes it a valuable choice for Beyblade X players. The curved gears allow for dynamic movement and the potential for powerful KOs, particularly when launched effectively. However, its low burst resistance and susceptibility to self-KOs introduce significant risks, necessitating careful control and technique during battles. Overall, Elevate is a welcome addition to any Beyblade collection.
Overall
Whale Wave is a release that features a strong recoil blade that delivers on powerful attack that is a top contender blade to be used for attack, while its faults are poor stamina and issues with recoil control. 5-80 is fine for anything outside of the stock combination for stamina or defense but is not really special here and
