Cobalt Dragoon 2-60C
BX-34
Weight: 37.6g (LOW END) - 38.0g (HIGH END)
Design: The Cobalt Dragoon features four upper blades designed to produce an upper attack, which is the core gimmick of its design.
Attack VS Attack: In an Attack vs. Attack (AVA) matchup, Cobalt Dragoon will only succeed if launched with greater strength than its opponent. If your launch is weaker, Cobalt Dragoon will be outspun, resulting in a loss. When launched with proper strength, Cobalt Dragoon can compete with top contenders like Dran Buster and Phoenix Wing, though it may be countered by options like Tyranno Beat, which can disrupt its momentum.
Attack VS Defense/Stamina: Cobalt Dragoon can only win if launched with significant force. A strong launch can cause a Bit Burst, where the bit separates from the ratchet, resulting in a Burst.
Stamina / Defense: Cobalt Dragoon is hollowed out, hindering its ability to spin equalize effectively. Attempting to spin equalize will likely result in being outspun by opponents. While it is possible to avoid losing by max hard launching it is a wasted effort in the long run.
Strengths:
Weight: One of the heaviest blades in Beyblade X, offering a weight advantage in battle.
Powerful Smash Attack: With a strong launch, Cobalt Dragoon can force opponents out of the stadium, leading to a KO. Additionally, it has the potential to cause a Bit Burst if the correct angle is achieved during battle.
Weaknesses:
Launch Power: Cobalt Dragoon requires mastery of a string launcher and a consistently powerful shoot, making it difficult to unleash its full potential consistently.
Equalization: Cobalt Dragoon cannot effectively spin equalize due to its hollowed-out sections. Attempting to equalize in battle will likely result in failure. It’s crucial to treat Cobalt Dragoon as if it’s in the same spin direction as your opponent and launch as strongly as possible to avoid losing.
Overall: Cobalt Dragoon's heavy weight allows it to effectively counter other heavy blades in the current meta, such as Wizard Rod and Phoenix Wing, making it a formidable contender. However, if you’re not confident in your launch strength when using a string launcher, this blade could be a risky choice. Despite this, its high power level against dominating blades like Wizard Rod makes it a must-have in the current metagame.
Gameplan: On setups with a low height and an aggressive bit that can gain speed, like Cyclone or Point, you must execute a hard launch and aim to defeat your opponent quickly. You want in an Attack VS Attack matchup to do a tilt launch hard generally, and against stamina to hard flat launch.
Combos:
Attack: Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 / 9-60 / 3-60 / 1-60 C/P/R/T
Defense: Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 / 9-60 / 3-60 / 1-60 H
Stamina: Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 / 9-60 / 3-60 / 1-60 G
Weight: 6.2g
Design: 2-60 is a Ratchet that has two wide square contact points and at a low height.
Strengths:
Low Height: One of the lowest height ratchets, ideal for aggressive attack setups.
Impact: The large contact points can occasionally deliver massive hits.
Weakness:
Stamina: The 2-60 is off-balance, leading to constant wobbling that wastes stamina during battle.
Failure to Maintain X Dash: It struggles to maintain a consistent pattern in the stadium, which can disrupt the Xtreme Dash and cause it to slam against walls.
Burst Risk: Due to its wide square contact points, the 2-60 ratchet is prone to bursting. The high likelihood of making contact and triggering an explosion makes it vulnerable to wall collisions or even self-bursting in a pocket, rendering it less reliable in battle.
Overall: While there may be some situational benefits, you're better off using other 60-height ratchets like 3, 4, 5, or 9 sides for competitive play. This ratchet is better suited for collection rather than competitive use.
Weight: 2.1g
Design: Cyclone is a bit with a curved star-shaped pattern and an 80 stat in Burst resistance, making it highly resistant to bursting.
Strengths:
High Speed and KO Potential: Cyclone can pick up fast speeds, making it proficient at knocking out opponents or delivering strong hits that lead to bursts.
Control: Cyclone is similar to Rush Bit, which has good aggression and a lot of control in the stadium.
Burst Resistance: With its high Burst resistance stat, Cyclone is excellent for minimizing the risk of bursting.
Weaknesses:
Vulnerability to Self-KO: If hard-launched and it catches the stadium's path, Cyclone can self-KO. Proper control and technique are crucial when using this bit. Its movement can be inconsistent, but with practice, this can be managed.
Gameplan:
Flat Launch: To maximize the effectiveness of this Bit, you must do a flat launch as you waste too much stamina trying to tilt as the shape of the bit works against itself tilted.
Overall:
Cyclone offers more benefits than a regular Flat Bit due to its speed and attack power while also providing similar control to the Rush Bit, making it a strong choice for those looking to balance control and aggression.
Overall
Cobalt Dragoon is a formidable blade in the current meta due to its heavy weight, which allows it to effectively counter top contenders like Wizard Rod and Phoenix Wing. However, its reliance on strong launch strength makes it a risky choice if you're not confident with a string launcher. It does well in Attack VS Attack and can do very well against stamina blades. The 2-60 ratchet is usable but generally outclassed by other 60-height ratchets, while the Cyclone bit performs similarly to Rush, having good attack power and control. Overall, while not a must-have, it’s a strong addition for competitive players.
