Knight Mail 3-85bS
UX-10
Weight: 36.4g (LOW END) - 36.9g (HIGH END)
Design: Knight Mail has a compact, round shape with multiple bumps along its edges, it also has 3 metal balls that move vertically.
Attack vs. Attack (AVA) Matchups: Knight Mail performs well in AVA battles due to its small and compact design, which allows it to deflect opponents efficiently while delivering strong counter-hits. Its bumpy shape helps it meet opposing attackers head-on, making it a solid choice in attack clashes.
Stamina/Defense vs. Attack: When used in stamina or defense setups, Knight Mail is unique in that its aggressive shape allows it to destabilize and counter-hit opponents effectively. It can handle attackers well by absorbing some impact while maintaining offensive pressure.
Stamina vs. Stamina: In pure stamina matchups, Knight Mail is just okay. It leans more toward aggressive stamina, meaning it can work but isn’t as reliable as dedicated stamina-focused blades like Silver Wolf or Wizard Rod. Its shape may help in some cases, but consistency is an issue. Attack vs.
Defense/Stamina: Knight Mail excels when used for attack against defensive or stamina setups. It can land devastating KOs thanks to its bump-based design, which helps push opponents across the stadium floor. Its combination of hard-hitting power and decent stamina makes it one of the best attack blades in Beyblade X.
Strengths:
Bump Attack: Knight Mail hits opponents hard, deflecting them across the stadium. Excellent Stamina/Defense – Its aggressive shape helps destabilize and counter opponents effectively.
Weaknesses:
Ball Gimmick: The metal balls tend to drag the Bey down, causing it to lose stamina quickly if not kept balanced.
Overall: Knight Mail is a welcome addition very close to being a must have since it has incredible defense work and a lot of attack potential. As such if you get this blade you will not be disappointed.
Game Plan: Knight Mail is best suited for attack-focused builds, where its bump attack and stamina allow it to deliver strong KOs. As always, a well-executed launch is key—aim for an Xtreme Dash to maximize effectiveness.
Recommended Combos:
Attack: Knight Mail 1-60 / 5-60 / 3-60 / 7-60 | LF / LR / R
Defense: Knight Mail 1-60 / 7-60 / 3-60 / 9-60 / 5-60 | H / D / O
Stamina: Knight Mail 1-60 / 7-60 / 3-60 / 9-60 / 5-60 | B / O
Weight: 4.7g
Tall Height & Wide Contacts: Being tall makes it slightly harder to hit directly, and its smooth contact points reduce impact, theoretically making it harder to destabilize
No real difference in consistent stamina: You would need to balance tune to see if it matters or not compared to other ratchets to see if it makes sense to use.
Strengths:
Tall Height & Wide Contacts: Being tall makes it slightly harder to hit directly, and its smooth contact points reduce impact, theoretically making it harder to destabilize.
Weakness:
Tall Height Issues: While height can be an advantage, 3-85 suffers from weak burst resistance, as tall Ratchets tend to have lower locking strength. This makes it easier to burst, especially if the Ratchet wears down over time.
Potential Blade Damage: Due to its locking mechanism, there is a risk of internal blade damage, as the Ratchet may push into the locking system differently from standard designs.
Overall: 3-85 lacks competitive viability, as its tall height does not offer enough practical advantages. The inconsistency in burst resistance makes it unreliable in battle, leaving it better suited for collection rather than serious play.
Weight: 2g
Design: Bound Spike is a Beyblade X bit that features low burst resistance and a flat bottom with a tiny sharp protruding off the bit. It has the ability where it will never fully go into the ratchet allowing to have a bounce ability.
Strengths:
KO Resistance / Burst Risk: Bound Spike is a low-resistance Bit, meaning it constantly moves in and out of the Ratchet during battle. However, this movement provides shock absorption, allowing it to mitigate impact forces and reduce the likelihood of bursting. This same effect also contributes to KO resistance, as the bouncing motion helps dissipate energy from incoming attacks, often keeping the Beyblade grounded rather than getting knocked out. As a result, while Bound Spike may not have strong burst resistance stat-wise, its mechanical properties make it surprisingly durable, allowing it to survive until the endgame in many battles.
Weaknesses:
Stamina Risk: Since this is a defense bit the focus is pure defense rather than stamina, so it is possible if you somehow screw up the launch to get bullied and outspun by attackers or go up against a stamina combo and be outspun.
Gameplan:
Somewhat tilted angle shoot and hold: To maximize the effectiveness of this Bit, you can employ a slight angle and hold the Beyblade on to the corner of where you are to lead into the middle to get those big hits without being knocked out.
Overall: This fixes most of the issues the original Spike had, except for its lack of stamina. If you're looking for one of the best defense Bits in Beyblade X, Bound Spike offers excellent defense but struggles with stamina. It's a solid and reliable choice, making it a great addition to any collection.
Overall
Knight Mail is an excellent blade that balances defense and attack, making it a must-have for anyone getting into Beyblade X. The Knight Mail Customize Set is especially valuable, though 3-85 is a bust—Bound Spike, however, offers consistently good defense. Whether you're a new or experienced player, this set is well worth picking up.
