Shinobi Shadow 1-80MN
UX-05 01
Weight: 27.9g (LOW END) - 28.2g (HIGH END)
Design: Shinobi Shadow is a 3-sided blade smoothed out at its contact points.
Parry Defense: Shinobi Shadow is designed to have a smooth shape to parry off attackers. The issue in this Blade lies in the shape being decent, but the Blade being so incredibly light negates any potential use.
Attack VS Attack: Shinobi is far too light to be consistent in any attack vs. attack (AVA) matchup; it will simply lose by being deflected and knocked out.
Attack VS Defense/Stamina: Shinobi Shadow is far too light to win any attack combination consistently.
Stamina / Defense: While Shinobi will not win in a stamina vs stamina battle, in defence use, if paired with Disc Ball on a low height ratchet like 60, it is possible to win and potentially out-spin attackers; the same in regards if paired with Hexa. The properties it has to fly around could be utilized in the best case for trying to give this a victory. However, even at that point, you would just use any other Blade for that purpose since a competent attacker user should not struggle against that Blade.
Strengths:
Shape: Shinobi Shadow has a good shape in its design, which is what makes it its biggest strength.
Weaknesses:
Weight: Shinobi is exceptionally light, which only works to ruin anything positive for the Blade.
Overall: Due to its lightweight, Shinobi Shadow's potential is ruined by its being highly outclassed by the majority of Beyblade X, making it a very disappointing release.
Gameplan: On setups with low height on any aggressive bit that can get speed, like Point/Rush, you must hard launch and aim to defeat your opponent via KO or outspin. On other setups, you want to tilt shoot with defense and stamina setups hard to outlast your opponents.
Combos:
Stamina(To be used against attack): Shinobi Shadow 9-60DB
Defense: Shinobi Shadow 3-70/5-70H
Attack: Shinobi Shadow 1-60P
Weight: 6.5g
Design: 1-80 is a ratchet with one side and a tall height. The contact area is one wide point.
Tall Height: It is one of the tallest ratchets. Due to its height, it is best-used attack combinations or anything that can use deflection.
Impact: By being focused on one point, 1-80 is unique and uses its one side to the advantage of having one strong impact hit.
Weakness:
Stamina: 1-80 generally has poor stamina and balance as mentioned before it is best used on attack combinations or anything that can be used to deflect opponents.
Overall: 1-80 has limited practical use compared to the other tall ratchets and while it is cool to see Takara Tomy explore other heights with 1 side there is no benefit in use right now, as such it should be used only for collection.
Weight: 2.7g
Design: Metal Needle is a Beyblade X bit with low burst resistance and a sharp metal cone shape on the bottom.
Strengths:
None
Weaknesses:
Weight: The use of metal has the benefit of being slightly heavier than the average Bit. However, this weight is inconsequential for any real difference in performance compared to regular Needle for KO resistance.
Stamina: Despite being metal, it arguably has way worse stamina than a regular Needle, losing balance far easier than the regular needle.
Burst Risk: The Bit has 20 in burst resistance, there is a potential risk of using it, as it has lower resistance than Balance and Attack Bits. This is not the be-all and end-all; it is just something to consider.
Destruction of Stadium: Due to being Metal while on a regular 34g Blade, the stadium shouldn't get dented on any heavier Blade. Your stadium will slowly start to see dents, especially if you try to slam or hard launch, you can get dents even easier. Making this Bit virtually pointless in every category possible.
Gameplan:
Somewhat tilted angle shoot and hold: To maximize the effectiveness of this Bit, you can employ a slight angle and keep the Beyblade on to the corner of where you are to lead into the middle to get those big hits without being knocked out.
Be aware of the top corners on the opposite side of where the Xtreme Finish is: Aim to try to KO with your movement.
Overall
Due to its lightweight, Shinobi Shadow's potential is ruined by its being highly outclassed by the majority of Beyblade X, making it a very disappointing release. While 1-80 is a fun ratchet it does not offer anything better than 1-60 can do for most matchups other than maybe defense combo use. Metal Needle is a dangerous hazard to stadiums that has no real benefit to be used at all; as such, if one is getting Shinobi Shadow 01, it should only be for collection early.
