Whale Wave 5-80E
BX-36 03
Weight: 38g (LOW END) 38.3g (HIGH END)
Design: Whale Wave is a 5-sided blade with curved sections that resemble waves, leading to major hit contact points.
Press Attack: Whale Wave is designed to use its tall height and curved blades to press down on opponents, delivering powerful attacks that weaken their stamina, allowing it to outlast them in battle.
Smash Attack: Whale Wave's large, focused contact points can deliver critical hits, launching opponents into the Over Zone or Xtreme Zone. It can also cause Bursts by targeting the Ratchet if tilted correctly.
Attack vs. Attack Performance: In Attack vs. Attack (AVA) matchups, Whale Wave lacks stamina, requiring a hard launch to outmatch the opponent.
Attack vs. Defense/Stamina: Whale Wave is a strong attacker but needs a powerful shoot to remain effective during the end game.
Stamina/Defense Use: On stamina or defense setups, Whale Wave can deflect opponents due to its strong recoil. However, this recoil can backfire, making it a double-edged sword in battle.
Strengths:
Weight: Whale Wave is one of the heaviest blades, giving it an advantage over lighter options.
Smash/Upper Attack: Its curved design enables it to deliver hard-hitting attacks, either launching opponents into the air or delivering strong forward force.
Weaknesses:
Gap: Like many blades with gaps, Whale Wave is more susceptible to Bursts, particularly at taller heights.
Recoil Control: Whale Wave struggles to manage its recoil, which can make it ineffective if it’s thrown off balance.
Overall: Whale Wave is a must-have blade, offering heavyweight and incredible attack potential that can Burst, KO, or achieve an Xtreme Finish against opponents.
Gameplan: Use setups with a low height and a slight tilt to slam down on opponents, delivering powerful force to knock them out.
Combos:
Attack: Whale Wave 9-60 / 7-60 / 3-60 / 5-60 / 1-60 / Rush / Point / Taper / Low Flat
Defense: Whale Wave 5-70H / 9-60 / 1-60 / Dot
Weight: 7.1g
Design: 3-80 is a ratchet that has 3 sides and a tall height, the contact areas for the ratchet are 3 wide points.
No real difference in consistent stamina: You would need to balance tune to see if it matters or not compared to other sides like 5 sides or 9 sides, this is up to Blader since it is a case-by-case basis.
Strengths:
Three sides with wider hit points: The Ratchet has wider contact points compared to a four-sided design. Although it is wider and should be easier to hit, in reality, three sides make less contact to cause a burst since they are more rounded off.
Weakness:
Tall Height: It is important to note that being tall in the case of 3-80 does not mean pure weakness however it means to be careful how you launch. While 3-80's generally are tighter than 3-60's or even 4-60's/80's keep mindful of how you shoot with this.
Weight: 2.1g
Design: GearBall is a Beyblade X bit with low burst resistance and a large semi-sphere on the bottom.
Strengths:
General High Stamina: The Ball bit due to its design of semi sphere is currently the best bit to use for pure stamina in Beyblade X.
Counter Movement: If launched correctly similar to a point gear ball can be used to do have movement that can fight back against whatever Beyblade it is up against to KO them or Xtreme.
Weaknesses:
KO Risk: Due to shape not being something that can really grip the stadium it can easily be KO'd costing you big points.
Gimmick failure?: Since the bit has low burst resistance and it is focused on fast movement it forces this bit to just die easily to Burst Finish and not be as consistent as you want. At BEST, you can have this used for pure stamina battles as opposed to any attack stuff. It can just perish too much to be considered.
Gameplan:
Somewhat tilted angle shoot and throw: To maximize the effectiveness of this Bit, you can employ a slight angle and throw the Beyblade on the opposing side from where you launch. This is to avoid knockouts and to conserve stamina.
Needs a STRONG shoot to be consistent.
Overall
Whale Wave is a must-have blade, recognized for its heavyweight and exceptional attack potential that can Burst, KO, or achieve an Xtreme Finish against opponents. However, the other parts in its stock combo are ineffective in the current meta, 3-80 is fine just nothing special and Gear Ball simply bursts too much. While these parts may have some niche uses, they are primarily suited for collectors. Ultimately, Whale Wave is the standout, must-have component, while the rest are more for collection purposes.
