Shelter Drake
Say Drake...
Weight: 32.2g (LOW END) - 32.5g (HIGH END)
Blade Design: Shelter Drake is a two-sided Blade with a flat yet slightly oval shape.
Attack vs. Attack (AvA) Matchups: Shelter Drake is a very light Blade, meaning it relies heavily on a strong launch to compete. However, with a powerful shoot, it can perform decently well in Attack vs. Attack matchups, capable of trading blows with heavier Attack Blades.
Stamina/Defense vs. Attack: Due to its light weight, Shelter Drake struggles in stamina and defense. While it may have some potential in these areas, it is generally better suited for Attack-focused setups.
Stamina vs. Stamina: Shelter Drake does not have enough stamina to be viable against other Stamina types, making it a poor choice for stamina-based strategies.
Attack vs. Defense/Stamina: One of Shelter Drake’s most interesting traits is its thin design, which allows it to slip between gaps in opposing Ratchets and Blades to land clean, precise hits. This makes it a surprisingly strong Attacker. However, it demands a strong launch and precise technique, preventing it from reaching the absolute top tier of Attack Blades.
Strengths:
Smash Attack: Shelter Drake is really thin but hits really hard the only issue it requires a hard launch to be the most consistent it can be.
Weaknesses:
Weight: Shelter Drake is very light making it required to be launched hard for it to do any consistent performance.
Overall: Shelter Drake has solid Attack potential and is a welcome addition to any collection. However, it requires proper setup and technique to perform consistently.
Gameplan: Shelter Drake performs best in low-height setups to maximize its attack potential. While it can be experimented with at different heights, its lightweight nature makes it less reliable in defensive or stamina-focused roles.
Recommended Combos:
Attack: Shelter Drake 7-60 / 1-60 (LR / R / LF / T / U)
Defense: Shelter Drake 9-60 / 7-60 (UN / H)
Overall
Shelter Drake performs best in low-height setups to maximize its attack potential. While it can be experimented with at different heights, its lightweight nature makes it less reliable in defensive or stamina-focused roles.
